Going Dutch...

Had seen this ship earlier in the season...

Glad I was able to catch her again to snap a picture of the unique front end...

The VOLGABORG is the first vessel I've ever noticed to have an "inverted bow".

A relatively new ship (built in 2013), the VOGABORG apparently has a sistership named AFRICABORG. VLIEBORG also has this design.

"M.V. VOLGABORG is the third and last unit... [of] general cargo ships with a... ‘bulbless’ bow shape with slight negative stem angle."

The builder's website offers a great picture of the ship before she was launched, showing the entire hull for those curious what she looks like completely out of the water.

The unusual shape of the bow certainly isn't obvious when viewed from this angle.
