Built: 1972

Collingwood, Ontario (Hull #203)

The vessel received a lengthening procedure in 1999-2000. An entirely new hull was attached to the existing stern at Port Weller. Returned to service in 2000 and was re-christened RT HON PAUL J MARTIN. She was the second CSL vessel to have the procedure (after near-sister ship J.W. MCGIFFIN became CSL NIAGARA in 1999)

Originally a straight-deck bulk carrier, designed in such a way that future conversion to a self-unloader would be (relatively) simple. xSailed as MELVIN H BAKER II for 3 seasons before having her name of “ATLANTIC HURON” restored.
